As usual, Google has finally released Android 12 and beta-supported Android phones in the Google I/0 2021. It is the 12^th major release and 19^th version of Android from Google for the Android mobile operating system.

Google I/O 2021 virtual meet-up has announced Google’s plan towards implementing more privacy to its users, Additional features to Google Maps, Advanced Multimodal model for natural language processing, and releasing Android 12 latest operating system to its first public beta version.

1. Android 12: Material Design ‘Material You’

Google announced that Android 12 will give the users more customization options to its users with its material you design. So users can customize right away immediately after the boot of Android 12 without any additional theme launchers to get installed. With this “Material You” concept users can save a lot of RAM usage in the background and speed up their devices. Followed by a user can have a dark theme, light theme to get selected.

2. Android 12: Change Icon layout and color extraction

Android 12 can help users to change icon layout by simply customizing the theme manager is built in android 12. Some of the official layout styles include Circle, Rectangle, Square, Octagon, Hexagon. On top of the dark and light theme Android 12 will give more personalized color options automatically to the notification area and lock screen based on the wallpaper user use.

3. Android 12: Aligned title with more information

Inside the notification area, the app notification will be seen in more rectangular icons with curve edges. Based on some media player apps some additional like change tracks, fast forwards, like and share features will be included. To get detailed notification user can long press on the app notifications.

4. Android 12: More control over GPS device

Currently, users need to send their exact location to the app that they are using, but with Android 12 user gets more control over the location preferences like user can either send Accurate / Approximate information based on the app that they use.

5. Android 12: Privacy control

As in iOS from Apple, in Android 12 users will be able to see the access of microphone or camera usage in the top right of the screen. Users can customize this setting depends upon user preferences. A private dashboard is including in the Android 12 setting which gives graphical information about the Location, Camera, Microphone usage over the apps installed in the device.

Google has released the Android 12 developer preview back in February 2021 for the google pixel phones. Now, Google has announced the Android 12 beta 1 supported pixel phones and also the third-party phones in the Google I/0 2021.

The Android 12 beta 1 is currently available to the google pixel phones like  Google Pixel 3,3 XL, Pixel 3A, 3A XL, Pixel 4, 4 XL, Pixel 4A, Pixel 4A 5G, and the Pixel 5 models. Apart from the Pixel phones, the Android 12 beta is available to download for the Oneplus, Asus, Realme, TCL, ZTE, and Tecno phones.
